I am notorious, according to my wife, for "trust issues" with doctors. This man, however, is the one doctor I do trust, and I run all ideas, opinions, and suggested treatment plans from other doctors by him before committing. There aren't many doctors out there that can remember your name, much less your medical history, at the drop of a hat when needed. I was in an ER after an accident involving multiple vehicles. The ER doctor called Dr. Mike, told him the situation, and the injuries I had sustained. This was most definitely after hours, and yet, Dr. Mike not only answered the page, I could hear him give the ER doctor not only a run down of my medical history and current condition, but an extremely accurate run down at that! Given the time of night, I'm fairly certain that he didn't have my chart right in front of him.
Like I said, he's the only doctor I truly, without any doubts or reservations, trust... great doctor, good man. Hard to find these days!!!
Dr. Mike is also more than willing to work with you in regards to your religious beliefs, personal outlooks, and your emotional state of mind. Just another example of how he takes the "whole" of the person into account... a reference to what I said earlier about the fact that he not only wants to make sure that his patient is healthy, but "whole and well again", as well.
Dr. Mike has been my Family Doctor, quite literally, my entire life. If you want a doctor who cares, will take the time to talk with you, and, just as important, take the time to listen to you, then this is definitely your man! Great doctor, good man, awesome "bedside manner", just all around a good, grounded, real-world person.
He's the type of doctor that's hard to find these days: the kind of doctor that remembers why he became a doctor... to help people (and yes, I'm sure for a good living as well) and to make them not only healthy, but whole and well again. You can tell it isn't just about career ambition or money, but that there is a good person with a genuine concern for your well-being. You don't feel like you're just a number or part of a herd of cattle just being put in and out of the check-up room as expeditiously as possible, for no other reason than the money gained by getting the most people through the doors as one can. If we weren't such a sue-happy culture, and the insurance companies would allow it, I dare say that he'd be one of the few doctors that would make "house calls", if he were allowed.
